RONIN to "hibernate" for a while...

After evaluating the current status of the applications, tournament card registry, feedback from users, and project goals, I have decided to put RONIN updates on a temporary hiatus until version 2.0 is released.

This means that at the end of the month, RONIN will effectively be "broken" since the web service requests for rulings will no longer resolve properly and there is still no offline mode available for it.

However, there are still several means on how you can retrieve the rulings that you need:

  1. netrep.net will still be up and running and will contain all the rulings you need. It will also be updated with the CRMS and RGBT rulings here shortly.
  2. The RONIN Dump File will still be maintained and updated with the CRMS and RGBT rulings here shortly.
  3. The Deck Studio 1.9 release will include a rulings module that will use the new offline rulings format to allow you to view rulings for a card, including cross references. The rulings module won't have any of the additional features you find in RONIN, but it will also serve as a test model for addition future modules to Deck Studio. You will not be required to download the rulings module. It will be an optional add on, similar to the image library.
  4. If/When it becomes available, I plan on linking to the Tome Raider portable rulings tool that YugiDad has created. I've seen this off and on over time and it is an excellent resource.

Just to make it clear, I fully intend to keep RONIN alive as its own seperate application. For the moment though it is too complicated an issue to simply update, and it will work for the best for me to wait until the 2.0 version to put everything in place. I do not have an exact timeline on the 2.0 release, but it is next on my list of work to do after I get the 1.9 release of Deck Studio complete.

As always, thank you for your time and patience during this process.
