ccgdb.com - New Search and Results layouts

Over the past two weeks, we have made some changes to the layouts of the search pages for all of our supported games:

  • two column layout reduced the need to scroll on lower resolution screens
  • new layout allowed us to expand some selection boxes for less scrolling (like rarity and card types)

We also moved the search results to a new "screen" (when you click search, you results screen will slide into place), and changed the results from a static HTML list to a more dynamic grid-like component.  This allowed us to add layout views to the results page:

  • Checklist view - same as the static HTML list
  • Text Spoiler view - additional card information, including card type, rarity and card text
  • Visual Spoiler view - same as Text Spoiler, with a thumbnail image of the card included

We hope you like the new layouts, and that they prove to be more useful in your CCG needs.  If you prefer the older layout, there is a link to it on each search page.

In the near future, we will be making some changes to the card viewer for each game, and doing some integration work with the NetRep product to reduce our data management overhead, as well as making it easier for you to integrate our data into your own ideas.  If you have any thoughts about how our and of the ccgtoolkit.com products can be improved, please let us know.

Just for the record, Michael does some REALLY awesome stuff with the ccgdb website and it should get more props than it does. Make sure to spread the word to all your friends playing CCGs outside of Yu-Gi-Oh. We're really working hard to make this a muli-CCG site and the quality to be found on ccgdb.com is second to none.
